Subject: Greetings to you from Mongolian librarian
Dear Russian Colleagues,
Greetings to you from Mongolia. It was nice to meet some of you in Ulaanbaatar and online.
Let
me introduce my
self, I'm Begzsuren, male, 36 years old, have been working as an IT Manager in Ulaanbaatar Public Library since 1998.
In this July/August I'm going to participate to the Cycling for Libraries 2012 journey from Vilnius to Tallinn /28July-7August/, then go to IFLACamp 2 days /9-10August/ event in Finland.
http://www.cyclingforlibraries.org
http://npsig.wordpress.com/iflacamp/
After above events, if I have a chance, I want to stay 2 weeks in Moscow and Saint Petersburg to meet more librarians and to know library background works of Russia.
More librarians, it means, to meet different librarians with different positions and duty, starting information desk librarian to chief, managers, directors.
Background of library service, it means, organizational structure, acquisition steps, cataloging guideline, networking plan, programs planning, organizing and evaluating, staff development, hourly schedule, daily duties and etc.
Also, if it's possible I want to share my experience of Mongolian Public Libraries by onsite presentation and organize Mongolian culture video event in your library.
Each meeting and information will be directly shared to my Mongolian librarians through my blog site for this journey: http://mlcycling.blogspot.com
So I'm looking for your help on contact to Russian Library Association and Moscow/St. Petersburg Public Library to organize my short meeting with association and library staffs and invitation letter for Russian visa. I'll be responsible for accommodation, transportation and all related expenditures.
Thank you very much for your understanding and time on communication,
Sincerely,
J.Begzsuren

Hi, Begz,
I am so excited that you will have a chance to visit Lithuania and it's libraries! I do not know if you are aware that myself I do not live in Lithuania now, I am based in Chile, but of course I can help you with contacts and introductions. I think there are two people whom you could contact - first one is a president of our Library Association and director of one municipal library Ms. Alina Jaskuniene, her email is [hide]. However, our library association is organizing IFLA satelite event, so she might be very busy at that moment. Another person is my good collegue Ms. Ramune Petuchovaite, who works in the Ministry of Culture and is in charge of public libraries in Lithuania, her email is [hide]. She is a very nice person and a great fan of bicycles too. If you contact any of them you can mention that I gave you the contacts.
Please let me know if you succeed to get in touch with them and let me know if you need some other help!
Best regards,
Ugne
